Diabetes is a common ailment in today’s world. Many young individuals are being affected by it due to factors such a sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy eating habits, obesity and genetic predisposition. Diabetes is also associated with other complications including kidney disease, nerve damage, eye problems and cardiovascular disease.
We curate our practices to target the apāna region (lower abdomen) through contraction movements. Apāna is where the toxins are accumulated in the body and targeting it is crucial to regulate insulin production in the body. We use various chanting, meditation and Prānāyāma techniques like Śītalī and Nāḍīśodhana (with definite ratios) to reduce stress and regulation the function of the endocrine system. Many of our clients have seen a drop in their HBA1C levels after regular yoga practice and disciplined dietary changes.
